Ever since school has started, I have been a busy man. School, and work have taken over my life right now. I just hope I can pass these classes and get this semester over with and get ready for the summer break!

Meteor Shower to Kick Off 2012

If you snooze you'll lose Wednesday morning, when a little known but active meteor shower will start 2012 for people stalwart enough to brave the chilly hours before dawn.

The Quadrantids, named for a now-extinct constellation, will be visible for two hours early Wednesday, from about 3 to 5 a.m. local times.

The shower is likely to produce up to 100 falling stars an hour, making for a good show. People across North America who stay up late enough, and who have a clear sky, should get a nice view, says Conrad Jung, an astronomer at Chabot Space and Science Center in Oakland.

Other than typical January temperatures, the weather should cooperate for watchers: "Viewing should be great over most of the country," reports Weather Channel meteorologist Mark Ressler. The only potentially cloudy spots should be in the Pacific Northwest, the Great Lakes and parts of the Northeast, he says.

It's possible that the East may get a more intense shower because it will go through the densest part of the debris stream first. "But that doesn't mean the West won't see anything," he says.

"There should be a meteor every minute or so at the very least," he says.

The shower is called the "Quads" by astronomers, says Bill Cooke, who tracks "space rocks" as director of NASA's Meteoroid Environment Office at Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala. "They're one of the more active meteor showers of the year, but they're not seen by many people" because they occur in early morning hours in winter, he says. "It's very cold around that time, so people don't want to go outside."

The Quadrantids are also less seen because they're short-lived and relatively little is known about them, he says. The Quadrantids are visible for two hours, then are gone for a year.

The meteors will be coming out of the northern portion of the sky, between a somewhat obscure constellation called Boötes and the handle of the Big Dipper.

As for the somewhat odd name of Quandrantids, it's pronounced Quad-RON-tihds, Jung says. Its name comes from a so-called extinct constellation called the Quadrans Muralis. That doesn't mean the stars have disappeared, only that it's a constellation that's no longer recognized by the International Astronomical Union. It fell by the wayside in the early 20th century, when the constellations were formalized, Jung says.

The shower comes from the remnants of a comet named 2003EH1, which probably broke up in the past 500 years. The tiny particles of rock that remain will enter Earth's atmosphere at 90,000 mph, burning up 50 miles above the surface and creating the falling stars that gazers will see.

"It's possible that 2003EH1 was seen by the Chinese back in the 1490s as a comet, so something the Chinese saw over five centuries ago is probably the parent of the Quadrantids," Cooke says.

So PUMPED!!! It will be my first skiing trip with my Girl friends family and I look forward to the trip for this weekend. I am also spending New years on the mountain with my girl. Their will be fireworks and pro snowboarders and Skiers doing tricks off of high pipes. So ready to get my game face on and ski for the first time.

I really miss riding my bike. It needs to be spring/summer already. I am sick of the cold because we have no indoor tracks to keep us riders in shape. All we have is a gym to stay fit. Someone needs to support our sport of BMX racing a bit more.

Last night was probably one of the best nights in a long time. I played Phase 10 with my girlfriend, my friend Tyler, and my friend Josh. Both Tyler and Josh came home for the holidays and my Girlfriend Danielle and I were happy to see the both of them. Tyler was in France for the Fall Semester earning credits towards his degree and is staying home to finish his credits at Truman university. Our other friend Josh is in the army and is home for 2 weeks. We were shocked to see he was able to come home and see us for a few weeks. We wish the best of luck for Tyler and Josh and look forward to seeing Josh come home in may of 2013 when he is finished with his contract over in Iraq for the war.

I am glad to say that my finals are all set and done. After a long fall semester, I am ready to put the books away and relax. I am glad Christmas break is just around the corner and Cannot wait to have a month off of school. I hope we don't get any snow this winter because I am not into snow that much. I would rather be near warmer climates like Florida.

Looking forward to spending Christmas with the family and my girlfriend this winter. I really hope I get a good Christmas that I asked for. One thing I am proud of myself for is I ended up getting straight A's this semester and this is my first time accomplishing that in my years of school education. I have always had A's and B's but not straight A's until just now for the 2012 fall semester.

Yesterday, July 28, 2011, I finally got my new vehicle. I ended up buying a 2005 Nissan Frontier SE. I love my new ride and can't wait to take it down to the Lake of the Ozarks this weekend. I want to thank my dad for helping me out with buying the truck. I have such a wonderful dad, I couldn't have asked for a better dad.

This past weekend was a great weekend for me. I spent some good quality time with my buddy Josh Bass. He headed back to Germany yesterday for the army. He is in Germany for 2 weeks, then he is off to Afghanistan for 15 months. My prayers go out to my buddy Josh Bass.

Never Say Never!

I know everyone has heard of Justin Bieber before, right? Well I totally understand where this kid is trying to make a point in life. My favorite song by him is "Never Say Never" because it really makes me think a lot about accomplishing things in your life. Even though this song is more about standing up for yourself and never giving up, I look at it in a different perspective.

As a young 20-year-old adult, I have so many dreams and I am ready to go out in the world and accomplish those dreams. I am a very positive person and I would give 110% of myself to reach that dream and inspire young kids around the country. I feel that kids and even older adults should take a step back, think for a second and say to themselves, "Never Say Never!" Because later on in life people will appreciate what you have done to change this world into a better place. As for me, I have one major goal: TO INSPIRE THOSE WHO UNDERSTAND WHAT IT TOOK FOR ME TO GO FOR MY DREAM AND FINALLY MAKING THAT DREAM HAPPEN!

Have you ever wanted to just get off your couch, get in your car and go far away to places that you enjoy? Well, I would do anything in the world to just get up and drive my car as far as I could go. Say if I had $500, where would I go? Well let's see, I am a type of person that loves the beach and likes to wear board shorts and a comfy shirt. I also enjoy wearing my sandals, hat, and my red bandanna. I guess I would drive to Florida. I love everything about the state of Florida. I could sit on the beach for hours and hours and be a happy man. My goal is to work 35 to 40 hours a week and make around $500 to $600 for each paycheck, that way I can hit the road to Florida in October for a BMX national.
